Balochistan Plans Launch of Advanced Safe City Authority

The Balochistan government has announced plans to set up a modern Safe City Authority in line with current security and technological needs.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where officials reviewed the progress of ongoing Safe City projects in detail. Authorities briefed the meeting that advanced surveillance cameras will be installed in major cities across the province as part of the initiative.

Chief Minister Bugti instructed relevant departments to promptly resolve administrative, technical, and financial hurdles and accelerate the implementation process. He assured that the provincial government would provide required funds and technical support on a priority basis to ensure the project’s timely completion.

He stated that after Punjab, Balochistan would become the second province to implement a modern Safe City system, calling it a landmark step for the region. According to him, the project will help curb crime, improve traffic control, enhance emergency response, and strengthen coordination among law enforcement agencies.
