The Hyderabad Kingsmen have made a major move ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) by signing Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. The franchise teased the announcement on social media, although the post was later removed.
Glenn Maxwell was not listed among foreign players in the PSL Player Auction, suggesting that Hyderabad Kingsmen secured him through a direct deal. This follows an earlier direct signing of Australian star Marnus Labuschagne, demonstrating the franchise’s strategy of strengthening the squad with top international talent.
Maxwell’s availability aligns with the international calendar. Australia’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign ended earlier than expected, allowing him to join the Kingsmen squad with minimal scheduling conflicts.
The Hyderabad Kingsmen have also secured a mix of local and international players ahead of the season. Key signings include Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Maaz Sadaqat, Akif Javed, and Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Perera.
Off the field, franchise owner Fawad Sarwar continues to expand his influence. He recently outbid an IPL team owner to acquire a Jamaica franchise for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League.
