The Islamabad Traffic Police on Tuesday introduced the “Uraan” Scooty and Motor Riding School to promote safe driving skills and improve mobility options for women across the federal capital.
The facility was inaugurated by Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi at a ceremony held at the Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, attended by senior officers, female personnel, trainees, and members of the public.
Officials said the initiative aims to provide structured training for women in riding scooties, motorcycles, and driving cars, enabling them to travel independently and confidently on busy city roads.
The IGP stated that the project represents an important step toward safer and more accessible transportation for women, emphasizing the need for practical skills that support independence and daily commuting needs.
The training center includes a dedicated track and modern practice facilities designed specifically for learners. All sessions will be conducted by female instructors to create a comfortable and supportive environment for participants.
Authorities added that women from Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be able to enroll, with successful trainees receiving certificates upon completing the program.
