Pakistan Introduces Cybersecurity Internship Program for Youth

Pakistan has launched a new Cybersecurity Internship Program to help students and recent graduates develop practical skills in the rapidly growing field of digital security.

The initiative has been introduced by the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity workforce and improve protection against emerging cyber threats.

The six-week Cybersecurity Internship Program will offer participants hands-on training in several important areas of cybersecurity. These include incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment and management, governance and compliance, digital forensics, software testing, and artificial intelligence development.

According to officials, the program is designed to provide real-world experience rather than just theoretical knowledge. Interns will work closely with experienced cybersecurity experts and gain practical exposure to cyber threat monitoring, security operations, risk management, and the latest technologies being used to protect digital systems.

The Cybersecurity Internship Program is open to university students and fresh graduates who are interested in building careers in cybersecurity and information technology. While applicants are expected to have basic computer knowledge and an understanding of online security concepts, prior experience in programming, networking, software development, or coding is not a mandatory requirement.

Officials said the program aims to create a new generation of cybersecurity professionals capable of addressing increasingly complex digital threats. With cyberattacks becoming more sophisticated around the world, developing local expertise has become a key priority for Pakistan’s digital security strategy.

The internship will also help participants improve their technical skills, enhance their understanding of cyber defense mechanisms, and prepare them for future employment opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

Interested candidates can submit their applications online through the official website of the National Cyber Emergency Response Team. Authorities have announced that applications for the Cybersecurity Internship Program will remain open until June 16, 2026.

The initiative reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on cybersecurity and its commitment to building a skilled workforce to safeguard critical digital infrastructure and national cyber assets in the years ahead.
