Sadia Iqbal Returns to No.1 in ICC T20I Bowling Rankings

Sadia Iqbal has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC T20I Bowling Rankings after strong performances in Pakistan’s recent three-match series against South Africa.

Iqbal, a left-arm spinner, finished as the joint leading wicket-taker in the series with five wickets. Her standout performance came in the final match in Benoni, where she took 3 for 18. This effort helped her move up two places in the T20I Bowling Rankings.

She surpassed Australia’s Annabel Sutherland and India’s Deepti Sharma to return to the No.1 position. Iqbal had previously held the top spot toward the end of 2024 and spent additional time at No.1 last year before Sutherland overtook her briefly.

The latest rankings update also brought good news for Pakistan captain Fatima Sana. She climbed 31 places to equal 28th in the T20I batting rankings and rose five spots to sixth in the all-rounders list. Fatima earned these gains following her Player of the Match performance in the series finale, where she scored 47 not out off 30 balls and took two key wickets.

Other players also saw changes in the ICC rankings. South African captain Laura Wolvaardt moved up one place in the batting chart, while several Indian bowlers gained positions after their T20I series opener in Australia. Renuka Singh rose six spots to fifth, Arundhati Reddy moved up 19 places to 16th, and Shree Charani advanced eight spots to 39th.
