A fully funded internship program has been launched in Saudi Arabia for Pakistani students, providing a monthly stipend of $1,000 along with several additional benefits.
According to international reports, the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has opened applications for its Visiting Student Research Program 2026. The international research internship is open to undergraduate and master’s students from Pakistan as well as other countries.
Selected participants will receive a $1,000 monthly allowance, round-trip airfare, free on-campus housing, full medical insurance, visa assistance, and access to advanced research facilities and laboratories.
The program will run for three to six months, during which interns will work on research projects under the guidance of globally recognized faculty members. Opportunities are available across multiple STEM disciplines, including computer science, engineering, energy, environmental science, and biological sciences, offering hands-on exposure to high-level research practices.
Students in at least their third year of undergraduate studies and master’s candidates with a minimum GPA of 3.5 are eligible to apply. English proficiency is required, but IELTS or TOEFL scores are not compulsory. PhD candidates and current or former KAUST students are not eligible.
Applications must be submitted online with documents such as a CV, academic transcripts, recommendation letter, personal statement, and passport copy. Submissions are accepted year-round, with shortlisted applicants contacted within weeks.
The KAUST Visiting Student Research Program is widely regarded as a prestigious platform that helps young researchers strengthen their skills and build international academic networks.
