National Peace Message Committee Reaffirms Stand Against Terrorism

The National Peace Message Committee on Wednesday declared terrorism as un-Islamic and emphasized special focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province most affected by extremism.

The committee held a press conference at the Governor House, where religious leaders described the Pakistan Peace Message as the strongest national consensus after the Constitution. The committee also announced that Pakistan Peace Message Day will be observed this Friday to promote unity with the state and the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been prioritized due to the high number of terrorist incidents in the region. Leaders emphasized that the Pakistan Peace Message serves as a fundamental national document promoting peace, unity, and harmony across the country.

The National Peace Message Committee condemned terrorism across all religious schools and reiterated full support for state institutions. Leaders also urged measures to prevent terrorism from crossing into Pakistan from Afghanistan, noting that many recent attacks had cross-border links.

Religious scholars reaffirmed that Islam is a religion of peace and love, declaring the killing of innocent people forbidden. Mufti Abdul Raheem stated that supporting enemies is worse than the actions of the Khawarij and affirmed that fighting terrorist groups is just and rightful.

The armed forces of Pakistan were recognized as protectors of Islam and peace, and supporting them was described as a religious duty.

The committee confirmed its commitment to promoting peace nationwide. Members pledged to visit areas needing peace efforts and encouraged citizens to observe Pakistan Peace Message Day as a symbol of national unity and resolve.
