Kohat landslide

A tragic Kohat landslide in Qamar village, Tehsil Gambat, has killed four people. Two others remain trapped under boulders.

Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the area after receiving information about the incident. They retrieved the four dead bodies after hours of hard work. Efforts continue to locate the remaining two individuals.

Rescue workers are carefully removing debris to reach the trapped victims. Officials confirmed that the search is ongoing.

Nearby hospitals have been placed on high alert to treat any injured persons immediately. Local volunteers and authorities are assisting the teams to ensure a smooth rescue operation.

Heavy monsoon rains have caused widespread damage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of Pakistan. Last year, several landslides in mountainous regions resulted in multiple deaths.

In August last year, eight volunteers died in Gilgit while repairing a flood-damaged nullah. These incidents highlight the risks faced by people in rain-affected areas.

Eyewitnesses said the Kohat landslide struck suddenly while locals were repairing a water channel. Tonnes of earth and rocks buried several individuals, making rescue operations difficult and dangerous.

Authorities have urged locals in vulnerable areas to stay alert during heavy rains. Early warning systems and proper monitoring can reduce casualties in such natural disasters.
