The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power outages in several areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Jhelum on Thursday to carry out routine maintenance and development work on its power distribution network.
According to the utility, electricity supply in parts of the Islamabad Circle will remain suspended from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. The affected areas include those served by the Kurri, Rehara, CM Pak Zong, and IT Park feeders.
In the Rawalpindi Cantt Circle, power will also remain unavailable from 6:00 am to 10:00 am for consumers connected to the LTC, New Mandra, Old Mandra, Hamid Jhangi, Old Rawat, New Rawat, AOWHS, Suparco, and CWO feeders.
Consumers in the Jhelum Circle supplied through the Hayat Sir Road, Karyala, Metro City, Grand City, and Bolani feeders will also experience power outages during the same period from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.
IESCO further announced extended shutdowns in the GSO Circle. Electricity will remain suspended from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm in areas connected to the Cap. Nasir, Col. Akram, Mangla Cantt, Dina-3, and Dina-4 feeders. Additionally, power supply on the 132kV AWC HMC Taxila and 132kV Sangjani-Burhan transmission lines will remain suspended from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The utility also said that the 132kV Kahuta City-Palandri and 132kV New Wah-Bahtermore transmission lines, along with the associated earth switches and nearby areas, will remain without electricity from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm due to maintenance work.
IESCO stated that the planned shutdowns are necessary to improve the reliability and performance of the electricity distribution system. The company added that power supply will be restored before the scheduled time if maintenance work is completed early and apologized to consumers for the temporary inconvenience.
