The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has revised school timings in the province’s plain areas due to the ongoing severe cold spell affecting daily routines.
According to a notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department, the revised timings will come into effect from January 16, immediately after winter vacations end.
Under the new schedule, all primary schools located in the plain areas will operate from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm daily.
Middle, high, and higher secondary schools in the same regions will function from 9:00 am to 2:20 pm, the notification stated.
Education officials said the decision was taken to reduce students’ exposure to early-morning cold and safeguard their health during extreme weather.
The department added that the situation will continue to be monitored and further adjustments may be considered if cold conditions persist.
