Political tensions have risen following the preparation for KP CM’s Sindh visit, according to Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon. He criticized the PTI for not honoring commitments made for the visit.
The remarks came after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi completed his two-day visit to Sindh. The KP CM expressed disappointment over the treatment he received in Karachi, claiming that the honor of Sindhi ajrak and topi was not respected.
Memon said that the Sindh government had coordinated with KP representatives and planned the schedule carefully. He added that security institutions had issued threat alerts, which were communicated to the KP delegation but not publicly disclosed.
Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah assured the KP CM and his team of protection and facilities. Memon emphasized that the delegation was advised to avoid areas that could be unsafe or disrupt daily life.
However, the minister claimed that the PTI delegation ignored these instructions. On the first day, they were reportedly seen in District South despite prior security guidance. Memon noted that all security plans are pre-decided to prevent any incidents, but these were violated.
He further stated that during the trip to Hyderabad, the PTI took an unapproved route on their return to Karachi. The delegation faced traffic delays on the Hyderabad Bridge, which could have been avoided. Memon criticized the delegation for blaming the Sindh government instead of acknowledging their own mistakes.
“The PTI did not respect the arrangements made for their safety and comfort,” Memon said. He also highlighted that the delegation engaged in criticism and name-calling during their stay in Hyderabad.

Memon stressed that these actions undermined the efforts made by the Sindh government. He questioned what benefit the province would gain from such disruptions and stated that the government’s priority was to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
The minister concluded that violations during the preparation for KP CM’s Sindh visit were unnecessary and counterproductive. He said the Sindh government followed protocols and provided full support, but the PTI delegation failed to respect them.
The controversy reflects ongoing political friction between PTI and the Sindh government. Observers note that such incidents could affect future coordination between provincial administrations.
