YouTube is testing a new multiplayer feature within its “Playables” gaming collection to enhance user interaction and engagement. The feature, which allows real-time multiplayer gaming, is currently being rolled out with games like Ludo Club and Magic Tiles 3.
In an official statement, YouTube explained, “We’re beginning to test a new multiplayer feature for a few select games on YouTube Playables. Multiplayer on Playables lets you play games in real-time with other users.”

The Playables feature, initially introduced as a free collection of mini-games for premium users, has been under development for over a year. In May 2024, YouTube expanded the feature to all users. The Playables library now includes over 130 games across various categories such as Action, Arcade, Puzzle, Trivia, Racing, Simulation, and Sports.
This move is part of a larger trend where platforms like Netflix and LinkedIn have integrated gaming features to increase user retention and engagement. By adding multiplayer functionality, YouTube is further diversifying its offerings and enhancing the interactive experience for its users. If the testing proves successful, YouTube could expand its gaming library, further establishing its role in the digital gaming ecosystem.
