WhatsApp Web to Introduce Unified Media Organizer for All Chats

WhatsApp is developing a new feature for its web version called the Chat Media Hub, which will allow users to access all shared media and files from all chats in one centralized location. This feature is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future update.

The Chat Media Hub will provide an interface where users can browse images, videos, GIFs, documents, and links shared across individual, group, and community conversations without needing to open each chat separately. It will appear as a new section in the sidebar of the web client, offering quick access to the entire media history from all conversations. Users will be able to view details such as the sender’s name and the date the file was shared.

The feature will include a caption-based search function to help locate specific items, and users will be able to sort content by recency, file size, or oldest first. A multi-select option will allow batch actions like downloading, forwarding, or deleting multiple items simultaneously. These tools aim to improve content search and storage management by helping users identify and remove large or unwanted files more efficiently.

Previously, WhatsApp was testing a similar feature for community group chats in its Android beta version. However, the Chat Media Hub for the web will cover all chats, providing a more comprehensive solution for media organization.

The feature is still in development, with no official release date announced yet. WhatsApp has confirmed it will be included in a future update of the web client.
