UAE Tops Global Mobile Internet Speed Rankings

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has achieved the highest mobile internet speed in the world, as confirmed by a recent report from Ookla.

According to Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, which measures internet speed performance, the UAE has been leading in mobile internet speed for most of the first half of 2023. In June, the country reached its peak with a download speed of 204.24 Mbps and an upload speed of 22.72 Mbps

Impressively, the UAE has secured the top spot five times out of six months in 2023, leading in January, February, March, May, and June, and taking the second spot in April.

Regarding fixed broadband speed, the UAE ranks second globally for June. However, it holds the first position among other Arab nations and the region, with a download speed of 239.2 Mbps. Singapore leads globally in fixed broadband speed with an average speed of 247.29 Mbps.

In the second quarter of 2023, Etisalat, a prominent telecom player in the UAE, achieved the fastest median download speeds for both mobile and fixed broadband, recording 216.65 Mbps and 261.98 Mbps, respectively. Additionally, Etisalat outperformed others in median 5G download speed with 680.88 Mbps and boasted the lowest median mobile multi-server latency at just 35ms.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
