Despite a delay of 60 years, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan declared that his country has finally joined the nuclear-powered nations during a virtual speech at the Akkuyu Power Plant’s inauguration ceremony.

The Akkuyu Power Plant has acquired nuclear plant status as a result of the transportation of nuclear fuel there by air and sea. The four-reactor Akkuyu nuclear power station, which is situated in the province of Mersin in southern Turkey, is expected to have a production capacity of 4,800 megawatts and is expected to start generating electricity later this year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
