Talks have commenced to finalize the agenda for Erdogan’s upcoming visit.
In the interim, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Paçaci convened a meeting, during which both parties pledged to reinforce their economic partnership. Cheema lauded the 2022 Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Pakistan and Turkey as a significant milestone. He also briefed the Ambassador on the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Centre (SIFC) in Pakistan, aimed at attracting investments from friendly nations.

Discussions during the meeting also touched upon Turkey’s investment prospects in Pakistan, particularly in corporate farming, including agricultural machinery and equipment. Both sides stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in bilateral trade and investment through Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) mechanisms.
Acknowledging the significance of the SIFC, the Ambassador expressed eagerness to expand trade between the two nations through the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) and the Strategic Economic Framework (SEF). Additionally, there was a shared commitment to promoting collaboration in energy, banking, trade, and railway sectors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
