Sales Tax Drives Record Growth
Revenue from the Sindh Sales Tax reached Rs344.602 billion in FY2025-26, marking a 21.2 percent increase from Rs284.377 billion collected a year earlier.
Collections under the SWWF and SWPF also rose by 10 percent, reaching Rs24.435 billion, compared to Rs22.253 billion in the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the newly introduced Agricultural Income Tax generated more than Rs1 billion, although it remained well below the annual target of Rs6 billion.
Highest-Ever Monthly Collection
SRB Chairman Wasif Ali Memon said the board closed the fiscal year with a record Rs45.08 billion collection in June, the highest monthly revenue since the authority’s establishment.
June’s collection also represented a 28.3 percent increase over May’s Rs35.15 billion, reflecting strong end-of-year performance despite economic challenges.

Memon credited the achievement to the dedication of SRB staff, the support of the Sindh government, and taxpayers’ cooperation. He added that the board will focus on expanding the tax base, improving voluntary compliance, and accelerating digital transformation during FY2026-27.
The strong performance comes as provincial governments face increasing pressure to boost tax revenues, following the federal government’s call for provinces to raise an additional Rs400 billion through improved tax collection in agriculture, property, and services.
