The Met Department has issued a weather advisory for Wednesday, forecasting continued hot and dry conditions in Islamabad and nearby areas. However, despite the dry spell, rain is expected to bring relief to various regions across the country later in the afternoon.
Rainfall is anticipated in several cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Dadu, Sanghar, and Khairpur. Additionally, northern and central regions such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sahiwal, and Toba Tek Singh are also expected to experience rain. Other areas likely to see showers include Pakpattan, Multan, Khanewal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Showers are forecasted for the hilly areas of Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, Kohistan, and Swat, which should bring some relief from the heat. Rain is also predicted for Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Loralai, Kohlu, Sibi, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Kalat, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Awaran, and Kech, providing much-needed moisture to these typically arid regions.
In response to the potential for urban flooding, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed relevant departments to stay on high alert. With heavy rains expected, the CM has specifically instructed the administration in Dera Ghazi Khan to be vigilant due to the risk of floods and landslides in the Koh Sulaiman region. She has emphasized the need for swift action to ensure quick drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas, particularly in major cities like Lahore, and has ordered the mobilization of all available resources to manage the situation effectively.
