Weather patterns are shifting in different parts of Pakistan as temperatures begin to ease in some cities while rain and thunderstorms are expected in others, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
In Lahore, residents experienced comparatively pleasant weather after recent days of intense heat. The PMD has forecast a 20 percent possibility of rain during the night, although dry weather is expected to continue throughout the daytime. The change in temperature has brought some relief to citizens dealing with rising summer heat.
According to the latest weather update, Lahore’s current temperature stands at 29°C. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 37°C, while the minimum may remain around 26°C. Wind speed in the city has been recorded at approximately 5 kilometers per hour.
Despite the improvement in weather conditions, Lahore’s air quality continues to remain unhealthy. The city ranked seventh globally in air pollution levels, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 137. Several areas reported even higher pollution readings, including Bedian with AQI 161, Model Town 155, Gulberg III 148, and Burki Road 132.
Meanwhile, Karachi is experiencing partly cloudy weather along with warm temperatures. Morning temperatures in the port city reached 30°C, though the weather felt warmer at around 33°C because of humidity levels. According to the PMD, Karachi’s maximum temperature is likely to rise to 36°C later in the day.
In Islamabad, cloudy weather has been observed since morning, and the Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and rainfall in the federal capital. Temperatures in Islamabad are expected to climb up to 38°C despite the cloudy conditions.
The PMD has also forecast rain in several other regions of the country, including parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir. Weather experts believe these changing conditions may provide temporary relief from the ongoing heat in various areas while improving overall weather conditions in northern regions.
