The Pakistani rupee continued its positive trend against the US dollar on Tuesday. The PKR recorded its 226th consecutive daily gain against the US currency.
The rupee closed at Rs. 277.52 against the US dollar. It gained three paisas during Tuesday’s trading session.
The latest increase extends a steady period of gains for the local currency. The PKR has reported consistent gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
The continued improvement reflects the rupee’s recent stability in the foreign exchange market. The currency has maintained its positive movement for several months.
The rupee also recorded mixed movements against other major international currencies. It remained stable against the UAE dirham during Tuesday’s trading.
The PKR gained one paisa against the Saudi riyal. This kept the local currency broadly stable against the two Gulf currencies.
However, the rupee weakened against the British pound. It lost 15 paisas against the British currency during the session.
The local currency performed better against the euro. It gained 10 paisas against the European currency.
The rupee also strengthened against the Australian dollar. It gained 49 paisas against the Australian currency.
The currency recorded another gain against the Canadian dollar. It improved by 28 paisas against the Canadian currency.
The exchange rate data also showed movements against several other currencies. These included the Malaysian ringgit, Chinese yuan, and other major currencies.
Against the Malaysian ringgit, the rupee gained around seven paisas. It also posted a slight gain against the Chinese yuan.
The latest figures indicate continued stability in the local currency market. The dollar remained the main focus due to the rupee’s extended winning streak.
The rupee had closed at Rs. 277.5515 on August 24. It moved to Rs. 277.5228 on August 25.
The reported change indicates a gain of around three paisas against the dollar. This marked another positive session for the local currency.
The PKR has now maintained its upward movement against the dollar for 226 consecutive days. The streak began on December 25, 2025.
The continued gains have kept the rupee relatively stable against the US currency. However, its performance varies against other global currencies.
The British pound remained among the currencies against which the rupee weakened. Meanwhile, the Australian and Canadian dollars saw notable declines against the PKR.
The latest exchange rate movement provides another positive update for Pakistan’s currency market. The rupee’s continued gains against the dollar remain closely watched.
