Pakistan will experience extremely hot weather today, particularly in the plains, as a heatwave continues across the country.
There is a possibility of storms in various locations post-afternoon. Despite the intense heat, some regions may see relief in the evening. Rain is expected in parts of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Potohar region, with Islamabad potentially experiencing rain with wind and thunder later today, according to the Meteorological Department. At night, showers are likely in Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Shangla, Kurram, and Bajaur.

Rain is also anticipated in Attock, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujarat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and Lahore. Additionally, areas like Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Murree, and Galiyat are predicted to receive rain with thunderstorms.
In Balochistan, the weather will remain very hot, with dusty winds expected in the northern districts. Similarly, most districts of Sindh will experience high temperatures, with upper districts facing particularly severe heat. Coastal areas of Sindh are also likely to experience dusty winds.
The Meteorological Department reports that temperatures in several areas will reach unprecedented levels, with Nawabshah and Mohenjodaro hitting a scorching 52 degrees Celsius. Multan, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur will also endure intense heat, with temperatures reaching 49 degrees. Lahore will see temperatures rise to 46 degrees, Islamabad to 41 degrees, and Karachi to a relatively cooler 38 degrees.
Authorities have advised residents to take precautions against the heat and stay hydrated. Those in regions expecting rain and thunderstorms should also prepare for potential weather-related disruptions.
