PCB Updates Schedule for Bangladesh ‘A’ Series

The Bangladesh ‘A’ men’s cricket team will arrive in Islamabad on Saturday, August 10, for a series against Pakistan Shaheens. The series includes two four-day matches and three 50-over games, all scheduled to take place at the Islamabad Club.

The team’s arrival was initially set for August 6 but was delayed due to political unrest in Bangladesh. The revised schedule for the series is as follows:

  • Arrival in Islamabad: August 10
  • 1st Four-Day Match: August 13-16
  • 2nd Four-Day Match: August 20-23
  • 1st 50-Over Match: August 26
  • 2nd 50-Over Match: August 28
  • 3rd 50-Over Match: August 30

Saud Shakeel will captain the Pakistan Shaheens in their opening four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’. The squad includes notable Test players such as Kamran Ghulam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, and Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Training for the Pakistan Shaheens will commence on August 7 at the Islamabad Club, under head coach Umar Gul, with support from Jason Gillespie and Azhar Mahmood. The focus will then shift to the national team camp starting August 11. After the first four-day match, eight Test probables will join the national team, and replacements for the Pakistan Shaheens will be announced for the remaining fixtures.

In a related update, fast bowler Mohammad Abbas Afridi has been named as Kashif Ali’s replacement for the Top End T20 series, starting August 9. Kashif Ali is sidelined due to a thigh injury. Afridi, who has played 10 T20 Internationals, will bring valuable experience to the squad.
