Despite the tournament being just days away, negotiations between the national players and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have hit a standstill.
Over the past four months, these national cricketers have not received any payments from the cricket board, including their monthly retainers and match fees.

It has been reported that players are now considering refusing to display sponsor logos on their jerseys and avoiding promotional activities due to financial strain.
Some have voiced their concerns, questioning why they should promote sponsors associated with the cricket board while representing Pakistan without compensation.
They have also hinted that during the World Cup, they may refrain from participating in commercial promotions and activities organized by the International Cricket Council.
The proposed contracts offer top cricketers a monthly retainer of Rs. 4.5 million, but they argue that taxes would reduce their earnings to approximately Rs. 2.2 to 2.3 million.
Cricketers are currently demanding a share of the PCB’s ICC financial model, which amounts to around Rs. 9.8 billion, excluding other sources of income.
Even if they were to receive central contracts, their earnings would fall short of one billion rupees, which is 10 percent less than their expected share of the revenue generated by the international cricket body.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
