[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Islamabad – The interim federal government has decided to maintain the petrol price at Rs281.34 per litre for the next two weeks. However, there are notable reductions in other fuel prices, with a Rs7 per litre cut for high-speed diesel (HSD), and decreases of Rs3.82 per litre for kerosene oil and Rs4.52 per litre for light diesel oil.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar approved the adjusted fuel prices, effective from midnight Thursday until December 15. Fuel rates are regularly reviewed every two weeks in Pakistan, taking into account fluctuations in the international energy market and the rupee-dollar exchange rate to minimize the impact on domestic consumers.

In a previous adjustment on November 15, the interim government had lowered petrol and diesel prices by Rs2.04 and Rs6.47 per litre, respectively.
All petroleum products are currently exempt from general sales tax (GST), while the petroleum levy (PL) on petrol and diesel remains at Rs60 per litre. The reduction in diesel prices, crucial for transportation and agriculture, is expected to ease inflationary pressures.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
