Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iPhone 18 series, and recent leaks have begun revealing what could be in store for the company’s next-generation smartphones. Reports suggest the upcoming lineup may feature camera improvements, new color options, enhanced performance, and even the debut of Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
According to industry rumors, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will maintain a design similar to their predecessors, with only minor visual changes expected. One of the few noticeable updates could be a slightly smaller Dynamic Island, while the overall appearance is likely to remain familiar.
The biggest upgrade may come in the camera department. Leaks indicate that Apple is testing a variable aperture system for the primary camera. Unlike fixed-aperture lenses used in previous models, this technology would allow the lens to adjust the amount of incoming light. Such a feature could improve low-light photography, offer better exposure control, and create more natural depth-of-field effects. Industry sources claim the new camera module may be significantly more expensive to manufacture than current versions.
Apple is also rumored to introduce a bold new color option for its premium models. A deep red shade, reportedly known internally as “Cherry,” is said to be under consideration alongside colors such as silver, dark gray, light blue, and other dark red variants.
In terms of pricing, reports suggest the standard iPhone 18e could start at around $599, while the flagship iPhone 18 Pro Max may be priced near $1,200. Despite hardware improvements, Apple is expected to keep pricing relatively close to current levels.
The Pro models are expected to arrive in September 2026, powered by Apple’s new A20 chipset and upgraded LTPO+ display technology. A redesigned haptic Camera Control button may also replace the current mechanical version.
Meanwhile, Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is attracting considerable attention. Leaks suggest it could feature a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.8-inch internal screen, creating a tablet-like experience when unfolded. The device is expected to use titanium and aluminum materials, feature Samsung-made OLED panels, and carry a price tag exceeding $2,000, making it Apple’s most expensive smartphone to date.
While Apple has yet to confirm any details, the leaked information points to one of the most ambitious iPhone generations in recent years.
