Youth to Receive Support for Climate Action in Pakistan

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Malik, said on Friday that the youth in Pakistan will be given access to modern technology and investment to protect the environment.

Addressing a ceremony, Minister Malik emphasized the importance of guiding the younger generation. “We need to guide our younger generation. The youth alone can bring a climate revolution to this country,” he stated. He highlighted Finland as a global example, noting its success in protecting forests through innovative environmental practices.

The minister also pointed to China’s transformation in environmental protection. “Ten years ago, Shanghai and Beijing were among the most polluted cities in the world. Today, China is the largest supplier of green energy. Chinese youth have played a key role using modern environmental technology,” he added.

Minister Malik highlighted the government’s Green Field Programme, launched to protect Pakistan’s environment. He urged private sector organizations and international bodies to actively participate and support sustainable initiatives.

The program aims to provide young people with resources, tools, and knowledge to develop solutions for air pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Officials believe empowering the youth will create long-term environmental impact and encourage innovative thinking.

Experts note that involving the youth in environmental initiatives can lead to a more sustainable future. Programs like the Green Field initiative aim to educate, train, and motivate young Pakistanis to participate in environmental protection actively.

The government hopes that by investing in the youth, Pakistan can address pressing climate challenges while fostering innovation and responsibility among its younger generation.
