NADRA Launches Upgraded Pak‑ID Mobile App with New Digital Features

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has released an upgraded version of its Pak‑ID mobile app, offering a more efficient and user-friendly experience for citizens applying for identity-related services.

This update marks a significant step toward improving Pakistan’s digital governance. NADRA has introduced several new features aimed at making the application process easier and faster for both local and overseas Pakistanis.

Major Improvements in the App

The updated app allows users to access and manage identity services without visiting NADRA centers. Key upgrades include:

  • Real-time ID tracking: Applicants can now monitor the status of their applications instantly through the app.
  • Facial biometric verification: This feature enables users to verify their identity using facial recognition at the beginning of the application process.
  • Family record access: Users can view records of family members without the need for additional biometric verification.
  • Appointment scheduling: The app now supports booking appointments at selected NADRA Registration Centers across Pakistan.
  • Improved interface: The user interface has been redesigned to provide smoother navigation and better accessibility.

These features aim to simplify how citizens interact with NADRA services, especially for those living in remote or rural areas.

Secure and Easy Online Payments

Along with identity services, the Pak‑ID mobile app now offers secure online fee payment for several document types. Citizens can pay for:

  • Smart National Identity Cards (SNIC)
  • Child Registration Certificates (CRC)
  • Family Registration Certificates (FRC)

The app supports various payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, Easypaisa, JazzCash, and e-Sahulat, allowing users to complete the process from home.

Improving Public Access to Government Services

According to NADRA officials, the new app is part of a broader push to enhance public service delivery using modern digital tools. The authority emphasized its commitment to making identity services more accessible, efficient, and transparent for all citizens.

By reducing the need for in-person visits, the upgraded app saves time and helps reduce crowds at NADRA offices. It also supports the government’s aim of using technology to serve the public more effectively.

Encouraging Citizens to Update the App

NADRA has urged users to update the Pak‑ID mobile app on their devices to benefit from the new services. With expanded features and improved security, the app now provides a complete solution for most identity-related tasks.

As the app continues to evolve, it is expected to play a central role in how Pakistan delivers essential services digitally. For citizens at home and abroad, this update offers greater ease, especially when applying for or managing ID documents remotely.

In a related move, NADRA has also launched a nationwide minority registration drive to ensure inclusivity in its database.
