NAB Cracks Down on Bahria Town Karachi, Freezes Over 10,000 Commercial Plots
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has intensified its actions against Bahria Town Karachi, following the filing of a reference against Malik Riaz and several others accused of illegal activities related to the project’s development.

In a major move, NAB Karachi has placed warning banners at key locations, including:
- Bahria Town’s head office
- Entry and exit points
- Toll plazas along the Super Highway
These banners caution the public against engaging in any property transactions or commercial dealings with Bahria Town Karachi, as investigations into alleged corruption continue.

Massive Land Freeze Order
The Director-General of NAB Karachi, Javed Akbar Riaz, has ordered the freezing of 10,468 commercial plots linked to Bahria Town Karachi.
NAB’s inquiry has found substantial evidence implicating the following individuals in corrupt practices involving land acquisition and allotment:
- Malik Riaz (Bahria Town owner)
- Ahmad Ali Riaz
- Zain Malik
- Shahid Qureshi
- Faisal Qureshi
- Mohammad Awais
- Wasim Rifat
- Waqas Rifat
The action marks a significant escalation in NAB’s efforts to combat corruption and illegal property dealings in Karachi.
