He clarified that there was nothing new in the leaked records.
Naqvi, who holds various roles including Minister for Narcotics Control, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and senator, disclosed that his wife had owned properties not only in Dubai but also in the United Kingdom for many years. Addressing the Dubai leaks at a press conference in Lahore, he criticized the portrayal of property ownership through illegal means and stressed the importance of accurate reporting.

The Dubai Unlocked project by OCCRP revealed data on numerous Pakistanis, including retired military officials, bankers, bureaucrats, and others, owning properties in upscale Dubai areas.
Naqvi clarified that he was not a public officeholder a decade ago but owned multiple properties, verifiable through records submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He defended the legitimacy of his investments, refuting suggestions of undisclosed income sources.
Expressing disappointment over the targeting of specific individuals in the leaks, Naqvi called for an investigation into undisclosed foreign properties and illegitimate possessions. He criticized the trend of branding successful entrepreneurs as thieves and denounced the negative portrayal of business ventures in Pakistan.
Despite facing criticism, Naqvi reaffirmed his commitment to delivering services positively. Responding to remarks by KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur regarding potential takeovers of state-owned institutions, Naqvi stressed the importance of reasoned discourse and cautioned against unlawful actions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
