Lionel Messi is set to make his long-awaited return to action for Inter Miami this weekend after being sidelined for over two months due to an ankle ligament injury. The 37-year-old Argentine star had been out of action since suffering the injury in Argentina’s 1-0 win over Colombia in the Copa America final in July.
Now fully recovered and back in training, Messi is likely to feature in Inter Miami’s upcoming home match against Philadelphia on Saturday. Inter Miami’s coach, Gerardo Martino, confirmed Messi’s fitness, stating, “He’s fine, he trained, and he’s in our plans for the match.”

His crowning achievement came in 2022, when he captained Argentina to victory in the FIFA World Cup, earning the Golden Ball for his outstanding performance.
