Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Approve Sky Glass Bridge Project for Kotli Sattian

A high-level meeting led by Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz has approved major development projects in the Murree region. The initiatives aim to improve tourism and strengthen the local economy.

One of the key decisions was the approval of Punjab’s first Sky Glass Bridg project in Kotli Sattian. Officials said the Sky Glass Bridg will become a major tourist attraction. It is expected to offer scenic views and a unique experience for visitors.

The meeting also discussed safety concerns in the hilly region. Authorities decided to involve international experts to assess landslide risks. Immediate steps have been ordered to manage mudflow in vulnerable areas. These measures aim to protect both residents and tourists.

Relief and rehabilitation work will begin in affected areas. These include Chatta Mor, Darya Gali, Bansara Gali, Namal, and Jhika Gali. Officials have been directed to provide support to residents impacted by recent weather conditions.

In addition to the Sky Glass Bridg, the government has approved three new hospitality zones. These zones will be developed in Shawala, Suzo, and Brewery. They will include high-quality hotels in partnership with the private sector. The goal is to improve accommodation facilities for tourists.

A team of experts will oversee the Murree rehabilitation project. Authorities have also been ordered to remove encroachments and clear debris. Road infrastructure will be improved, with key routes widened to ease traffic flow.

The meeting reviewed progress on several tourism projects. These include parks in Kotli Sattian and recreational facilities in nearby areas. Plans for a zoological garden, eco-zones, and conference facilities were also discussed.

Officials also shared updates on environmental initiatives. Rainwater harvesting systems have been installed in many homes. This has helped reduce water shortages in the region.

Other projects include a chairlift in Kotli Sattian and a glass train in Murree. A feasibility report for a bulk water supply scheme from the River Jhelum is also in progress.
