Mashal Yousafzai Terminated Following Criticism of PTI Leadership

Mashal Yousafzai, spokesperson for Bushra Bibi, has been removed from her role as Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

The Chief Minister’s Secretariat confirmed the dismissal through an official notification, which came just hours after Yousafzai appeared on a private TV channel.

During the interview, Yousafzai disclosed significant details about PTI’s internal decision-making during recent protests in Islamabad. She revealed that Bushra Bibi chose to head to D-Chowk instead of Sangjani, against advice from some party leaders. According to Yousafzai, Barrister Gohar conveyed Imran Khan’s instructions for a sit-in at Sangjani, but Bushra, citing distrust in the leadership, opted for D-Chowk, raising concerns among party members.

Yousafzai also alleged that Bushra’s vehicle came under fire during the protest, contradicting police reports that denied the use of live ammunition. The timing of her dismissal coincides with growing scrutiny over PTI’s handling of the Islamabad protests, which aimed to secure Imran Khan’s release after over a year in prison.

Mashal confirmed her removal, stating it was directly tied to her comments during the interview. “I was de-notified because of my remarks about the protest and the conflicting directions given to Bushra Bibi,” she said.

The protest’s shift to D-Chowk drew widespread criticism, with questions about the decisions of Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur. Yousafzai highlighted the confusion surrounding instructions Bushra received, suggesting she wanted to directly confirm Imran Khan’s intentions but was unable to do so.

Additionally, Mashal claimed Bushra’s vehicle was attacked with chemicals, forcing her to switch cars amid the chaos, though the two were separated during the incident. Meanwhile, the Islamabad police chief maintained that no live ammunition was used, contradicting Yousafzai’s account.

The protest, initially envisioned as a decisive march for PTI leadership, has led to significant internal upheaval, with figures like Salman Akram Raja and Sahibzada Hamid Raza stepping down from party positions following the failed sit-in attempt.
