A cold wave has gripped Lahore, causing a noticeable drop in temperatures and maintaining dry, brisk weather. The Meteorological Department predicts the city’s minimum temperature could dip to 4°C, with daytime highs reaching around 19°C. High humidity levels, recorded above 60%, are adding to the chill, making the cold feel even more intense.

The Met Office forecasts cold and dry weather across most of Pakistan, with particularly severe conditions expected in the northern regions. Mountainous areas are likely to face harsh nighttime temperatures, while dense fog is predicted to cover the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Islamabad, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience reduced visibility in the mornings due to haze and fog.

Lahore’s residents have been advised to prepare for the cold and take necessary precautions to stay safe. Officials recommend keeping warm and limiting outdoor activities, especially during late-night and early-morning hours when the chill is at its peak. Travelers are also urged to drive cautiously on foggy roads to avoid accidents.

The biting winter conditions are expected to persist, with no significant rainfall in the immediate forecast. Dry weather continues to dominate, intensifying the overall winter experience for the city’s population.

As temperatures plummet, the current conditions serve as a reminder for residents to prioritize their health and safety during this prolonged cold spell. Adjusting daily routines to accommodate the harsh weather and staying informed about updates from the Met Office are key to navigating this challenging period.
