Lahore To Get First Ever Govt Cancer Hospital

Following a directive from the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, Lahore is poised to witness the establishment of its inaugural government cancer hospital.

CM Naqvi issued this directive while inspecting the Manawan hospital, where he assessed the proposed location for the cancer hospital, as well as the current hospital infrastructure.

Additionally, CM Naqvi also examined an adjacent building and instructed the transformation of Manawan Hospital into a specialized cancer treatment center. He emphasized the critical need for a cancer hospital to serve Lahore’s population of approximately 14 million.

In another development, CM Punjab led a meeting at Manawan hospital to evaluate the progress made in establishing the cancer hospital.

Furthermore, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Fareed Zafar, the Principal of Amiruddin Medical College, has established a committee to oversee the enhancement of Lahore General Hospital’s emergency department. Professor Khizr Hayat Gondal will lead this committee, with other members including Dr. Javaid Mumtaz, Dr. Lyla Shafique, Naseem Khaliq, Muhammad Ali, and Zafar Mukhtar.
