Lahore Finalizes Traffic Plan for Cattle Markets

City Traffic Police Lahore has completed a comprehensive traffic management strategy for cattle markets established across the city ahead of Eid ul Adha. Authorities said special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide convenience to traders, buyers, and visitors during the busy season.

According to officials, more than 200 traffic wardens have been deployed at six major cattle markets across Lahore. The personnel will monitor traffic movement, guide commuters, and help prevent congestion near the markets where large crowds are expected in the coming days.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore, Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, stated that officers from the City and Sadar divisions will supervise operations at all designated cattle markets. Under the traffic plan, six DSPs and 18 sector in-charges have also been assigned duties to maintain discipline and manage transportation issues efficiently.

The administration has further arranged six forklifts to remain active at different points in the city. These forklifts will remove encroachments and illegally parked vehicles to keep roads clear and avoid traffic blockages around the cattle markets.

Meanwhile, Lahore traffic police have also imposed a ban on loader rickshaws and Qingqi rickshaws on Canal Road. Officials said the step was taken to improve public safety and reduce the risk of accidents on one of the city’s busiest roads.

Additional traffic personnel have been stationed at Dharampura, Mughalpura, and Thokar Niaz Baig to strictly enforce the restrictions. Authorities explained that overloaded rickshaws carrying steel pipes, iron rods, and other goods in unsafe ways create serious dangers for commuters.

Traffic police have also ordered strict action against auto-rickshaw drivers who allow passengers to sit beside drivers. At the same time, Lahore police have enhanced security arrangements at cattle markets to ensure safety for traders and citizens during Eid ul Adha preparations.
