Kaghan Valley Sees Over 147,000 Tourists During Muharram Holidays

The Kaghan Valley witnessed a sharp rise in tourist arrivals during the Muharram holidays. According to the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), more than 147,812 visitors travelled to the region during the holiday period.

The Kaghan Valley remained the most visited tourist destination in the province. Officials said the flow of tourists continued even after the holidays ended.

Data released by the Kaghan Development Authority confirmed that 147,812 tourists entered Kaghan Valley during the Muharram break. This included 30 foreign tourists, showing increasing international interest in the scenic destination.

Authorities said the growing number of visitors highlights the strong appeal of Kaghan Valley among both local and international travellers. The valley is known for its natural beauty, rivers, and mountainous landscapes.

To manage the heavy tourist rush, the Kaghan Development Authority deployed staff at multiple locations across the valley. These teams assisted visitors by providing guidance, information, and support.

Officials said their main focus was to ensure safe and smooth travel for all tourists visiting Kaghan Valley. Staff members were stationed at key points to help control crowd movement.

The KDA administration also coordinated with the Tourism Police and local police. Together, they worked to maintain traffic flow and reduce congestion in busy areas.

Authorities said joint efforts helped improve traffic management during peak travel times. Despite the large number of visitors, the system remained largely under control.

In addition to traffic control, safety measures were also emphasized. Tourists were given clear instructions and advisories during their stay in Kaghan Valley.

The Kaghan Development Authority issued a public safety warning urging visitors to avoid the Kunhar River and its tributaries. Officials said this step was necessary to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.

They also advised tourists to follow safety guidelines and remain cautious near water bodies. Authorities stressed that careful behavior was essential during the busy season.

The Kaghan Development Authority said it will continue monitoring tourist activity in the region. Additional staff may be deployed during future peak seasons to handle large crowds more effectively.|
