[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) caretaker Information Minister Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kaka Khel has announced the establishment of free flour distribution points in union councils to alleviate overcrowding.
Kaka Khel told a press conference in Peshawar that 1.27 million registered families have received free flour so far, and that expanding distribution points to UCs would solve the problem of mismanagement and violent stampedes.

“The provincial government is determined to serve and facilitate the general public as much as possible,” he said, adding that the distribution of free flour to deserving families was ongoing.
“So far, 22% of the targeted population has been provided with free flour in the province, and the number of distribution points has been increased to avoid mismanagement,” he continued, adding that now each UC will have its own distribution point.
The atta distribution system has much room for improvement, and steps have been taken to address mismanagement issues. As a result, he observed significant improvement over the previous two days.
“So far 7.78 million bags of free atta have been distributed. There were reports that the food deparment’s application about online complaints was down which is being fixed,” he shared, adding that a committee has been formed of administrative secretaries to monitor the atta distribution and improve the entire process.

“Each administrative secretary has been assigned two districts where they are responsible for monitoring the supply process,” the minister explained.
