Neeraj Chopra, India’s defending Olympic champion, praised Pakistani javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem after his historic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. “Aaj Arshad ka din tha” (Today was Arshad’s day), Chopra remarked, acknowledging Nadeem’s exceptional performance with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters.

Chopra, who secured the silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters, faced difficulties during the final, fouling five of his six attempts. Despite the intense competition, Chopra’s comments reflected sportsmanship and mutual respect between the two athletes.
He emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and collaboration, stating, “We all feel happy whenever we win a medal for the country. It’s time to improve the game now. We will sit and discuss and enhance our performance. India performed well at the Paris Olympics, and the competition was strong.”
