Transporters Demand Release of Container Vehicles Seized by Police

Transporters have demanded the immediate release of container vehicles allegedly taken by Islamabad Police.

The vehicles were reportedly seized for preparations linked to a political sit-in. Transporters have objected to the alleged use of their commercial vehicles.

Muhammad Owais Chaudhry called the reported seizure unacceptable. He urged authorities to return all vehicles currently held by police.

Chaudhry said transporters have no connection with political protests or sit-ins. He said their vehicles are used for trade and commercial activities.

He maintained that commercial vehicles should not be used for political purposes. According to him, such actions create serious problems for vehicle owners.

The alleged seizure has also affected the normal operations of transport businesses. Owners depend on their vehicles to transport goods and support commercial activity.

Chaudhry said keeping the vehicles in remote areas has created additional difficulties. Vehicle owners may face extra costs while trying to recover their property.

He urged the government to ensure commercial vehicles are not taken for political activities. He also called for better protection of transporters and their businesses.

Chaudhry further demanded a transparent investigation into the reported seizure. He also raised concerns about allegations of bribery related to the release of vehicles.

He said authorities should investigate these claims and establish the facts. Any official responsible for wrongdoing should be dealt with under the law.

The transporters’ representative also demanded the immediate return of all vehicles under police control. He said owners should not suffer financial losses because of political activities.

Chaudhry warned that the forced use of commercial vehicles could create an impression of state coercion. He urged Islamabad Police to resolve the matter without further delay.

The demand comes as preparations continue for a political sit-in in the federal capital. Transporters have maintained that their vehicles should remain available for legitimate commercial purposes.

They also called for clear rules to prevent similar incidents in the future. They said commercial vehicle owners should be consulted before their vehicles are used for official purposes.

The issue has raised concerns among transporters about the impact of political activities on their businesses. They want authorities to ensure that commercial operations are not disrupted.
