Following his arrest, Ilyas’s lawyers and supporters gathered outside the police station, while party workers assembled outside his residence.

On May 1, an FIR was filed against Ilyas for attempting to seize the central offices and important documents of Centaurus Mall. The complaint, lodged by Colonel (retd) Tipu Sultan, Deputy Security In-charge of The Centaurus Mall, named Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Muhammad Ali, Anil Sultan, Rizwan, and other unknown individuals as accused.

The FIR stated that Ilyas, accompanied by an armed group of 20 to 25 people, broke into office 1708 of Centaurus Mall, intending to take control. Security guards thwarted their attempt. Sardar Tanveer Ilyas allegedly threatened to kill Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and Sardar Dr Rashid Ilyas Khan, along with their colleagues.

Additionally, the FIR mentioned that the individuals assaulted the security officer. When law enforcement arrived, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas allegedly fired at Colonel (retd) Tipu Sultan, narrowly missing him.
