India wasn’t ‘brave’ in the World Cup Final, says Hafeez

Former Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez claimed that India lacked bravery during the Australia-vs. India ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final at The Oval.

Hafeez, 42, thinks that India’s issues began when they won the toss and chose not to initiate play in a “brave” manner.

Hafeez tweeted, “Winning the toss but not choosing the courageous path to begin with is actually caused all the problems for @BCCI #WTC2023Final.”

It should be mentioned that Australia defeated India in the World Test Championship final on Sunday by a score of 209 runs.

On the fifth day of the game, India’s second innings saw them bowled out for 234 runs while attempting to chase a goal of 444 runs.

Australia had previously been unable to win the one major men’s cricket trophy, but with the triumph, they now possessed it.

However, as a result of New Zealand’s victory over India in the inaugural 2021 World Tennis Championship final in Southampton, India is still looking for its first major trophy in ten years.

With four and three wickets each, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland were Australia’s leading scorers in the second innings.

Although Indian hitters got off to good starts, none of them were able to stay at the wicket for very long. The key players for India were Rohit Sharma (43) Ajinkya Rahane (46) and Virat Kohli (49).

It should be mentioned that India won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 by defeating England, which was their last time winning an ICC trophy.

Since then time, India has either lost in the semifinals or the ICC tournament final.
