Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday, concluding his association with the national side that spanned over eight years. In a statement posted on his social media, the 34-year-old, formerly active on Twitter, emphasized that the timing was right to conclude his international cricket journey.
“After reflecting on my international career in recent days, I have reached the decision that it’s the appropriate moment to retire from international cricket,” he expressed.
Expressing gratitude, Imad thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the consistent support extended to him throughout his career. He acknowledged the honor of representing Pakistan, expressing that each of his 121 appearances in ODIs and T20Is was a realization of a dream.

As he steps away from the international stage, Imad acknowledged the exciting phase for Pakistan cricket with new coaches and leadership coming in, referring to the significant changes in the Pakistan camp. He extended his best wishes for success and expressed eagerness to witness the team’s achievements.

Imad also conveyed appreciation to the passionate Pakistani fans for their unwavering support and expressed heartfelt gratitude to his family and friends, emphasizing their pivotal role in his accomplishments at the highest level.
Looking ahead, he stated, “I now look forward to focusing on the next stage of my playing career away from the international stage.”
Imad Wasim’s international cricket career spanned 121 matches, during which he scored 1,472 runs and took an impressive 109 wickets.
