The return of Pakistani pilgrims from this year’s Hajj is moving forward smoothly. According to officials, nearly 46 percent of the pilgrims have already arrived back in Pakistan. The government says the operation is progressing according to schedule.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Omar Butt, said that the Hajj operation has now entered its final stage. He explained that field activities in Makkah are expected to end within the next three days. After that, all remaining operational work will be shifted to Madinah.
At present, around 55,000 pilgrims under the government scheme are still in Saudi Arabia. Officials said that nearly 28,000 pilgrims remain in Makkah. These pilgrims are being transferred to Madinah in phases as part of the planned schedule.
Meanwhile, approximately 27,000 pilgrims are currently staying in Madinah. They are visiting Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) and completing their religious activities before returning to Pakistan. Authorities are closely monitoring travel arrangements to ensure a smooth return process.
The government is also reducing its support operations as the number of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia decreases. According to officials, around 51 percent of medical staff and Hajj assistants, known as Khudam-ul-Hujjaj, have already returned home. The remaining teams will stay in Saudi Arabia until the completion of the final phase of the operation.
Officials said that support services are continuing for pilgrims who are still in the holy cities. Medical facilities, transportation services, and guidance teams remain available to assist them during their stay.
The repatriation schedule is being carried out through regular flights from Saudi Arabia. Under the official plan, the final flight from Jeddah Airport will depart on June 16. This will mark the end of operations at the airport for this year’s pilgrimage season.
