In a major right-sizing initiative, the federal government has abolished 11,877 vacant posts across various ministries and divisions. The move, aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing bureaucratic redundancy, affects positions from Grade 1 to Grade 22.

According to the Establishment Division’s report to parliament, the eliminated positions include:
Grade 1 to 18: 11,764 posts removed
- Grade 18: 135 posts abolished
- Grade 17: 445 posts eliminated
- Grade 16: 552 posts removed
Grade 19 to 22: 113 posts eliminated
- Grade 19: 85 posts abolished
- Grade 20: 26 posts removed
- Grade 22 Advisers: 2 posts abolished
