Gold prices in Pakistan drop for the fourth consecutive session but stay close to record highs

The price of gold in Pakistan declined for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday after reaching a record high last week. According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold decreased by Rs. 500 per tola, bringing it down to Rs. 255,500, while the price of 10 grams dropped by Rs. 429 to Rs. 219,050.

After hitting a record high of Rs. 257,300 per tola on Friday (August 1), the price of gold has been decreasing steadily. It fell by Rs. 500 per tola on Saturday, followed by a Rs. 300 per tola drop on Monday, and another Rs. 500 per tola decrease on Tuesday. The cumulative decline over the past four days amounts to Rs. 1,800 per tola. In the international market, spot gold increased by 0.2 percent to $2,393.66 per ounce as of 0936 GMT, while US gold futures rose by 0.1 percent to $2,434.00.
