A tragic accident near Uch Sharif claimed the life of former PPP lawmaker Makhdoom Ali Hassan Gillani. Local reports indicate the collision occurred near Nabipur when a speeding car struck a livestock-laden truck, resulting in the deaths of Gillani and another individual, Muhammad Akbar. Three others—Sultan (30), Hanif (45), and Jand Wada (55)—sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Gillani, a two-term MNA, initially represented the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and later contested as an independent before joining the PPP in 2017. He ran twice under the PPP banner but was unable to secure victory.
