At the behest of the Fruit and Vegetables Exporter Association, the federal government has granted permission for the export of Kinnow, commencing on November 15, 2023.
As per a circular from the Ministry of Commerce, the committee responsible for Kinnow export has reached the decision to permit exports starting from November 15. The circular further states that all other export conditions will adhere to the 2022 export policy.
Shoaib Basra, the Senior Vice Chairman of the Fruit and Vegetables Exporter Association, expressed optimism regarding this year’s Kinnow production, anticipating a substantial increase from last year, with an expected yield of 2.7 million tons compared to the previous year’s 1.3 million tons.

He also expressed hope that Pakistan’s exports could rise by 30 percent if favorable conditions, such as open borders, are provided to exporters.
It is worth noting that Pakistan traditionally exports Kinnow to Russia, Central Asian nations, and the Philippines on an annual basis. Basra highlighted the Association’s intention to ship consignments to these countries before the New Year, particularly in time for Christmas.
