Fans Question Misbah’s ‘Priorities’ as He Exits Champions Cup Mid-Event for US Charity Function

Former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who is currently serving as a mentor for the Wolves team in the Champions One-Day Cup, has left the tournament midway to attend charity events in the United States. According to reports, Misbah had informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his prior commitments, and his departure was approved by the board.

However, his decision has been met with criticism from fans on social media, with many questioning his priorities. Some argue that given his significant role and remuneration as a mentor, Misbah should have prioritized the tournament over external engagements. Despite the backlash, sources confirm that Misbah will return to Pakistan and rejoin his team soon.

Misbah’s departure comes at a time when the Wolves team, under his mentorship, is performing well, topping the points table with three wins out of four matches. As a key figure in Pakistan cricket, Misbah’s involvement in the tournament was seen as pivotal for shaping emerging talent.

Alongside Misbah, Shoaib Malik was also named a mentor for the Champions One-Day Cup, leading the Stallions team. Both veteran cricketers were allocated training academies—Misbah’s Wolves training at Faisalabad Cricket Academy, while Malik’s Stallions used the Sialkot Cricket Academy.
