Shaikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s ruler, has made headlines with a dramatic Instagram post announcing the end of her marriage to Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum. In a heartfelt declaration on social media, she accused her husband of being “occupied with other companions” and invoked the Islamic practice of triple talaq, stating “I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.”

This announcement, however, has raised eyebrows due to Islamic law not recognizing triple talaq as a valid method of divorce for women. Instead, women are required to seek divorce through khula, a formal court process initiated by the wife. This legal discrepancy has added complexity to the situation.

The couple’s romance began with a grand wedding in April 2023 and appeared to hit a rough patch just two months after welcoming their first child. Shaikha Mahra’s emotional post, addressed to her husband and ending with “Take care. Your ex-wife,” has ignited widespread speculation on social media. Both parties swiftly unfollowed each other on social platforms, fueling further intrigue.

Initially, some speculated that Shaikha Mahra’s account might have been compromised, but there has been no indication of hacking. She later shared a picture of her daughter with a caption suggesting they were facing the situation together.

While the families of Shaikha Mahra and her husband have chosen to remain silent, the public response has been supportive and empathetic. Followers have flooded her posts with messages of encouragement, admiring her courage in publicly addressing personal challenges.
