Case filed against Imran Khan and others for hiding facts in PTI worker’s death.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]LAHORE: Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and other PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Farukh Habib, Yaseem Rashid, Raja Shakeel, and others, have been charged with ‘hiding facts’ in the death of Ali Bilal alias Zil e Shah.

On the complaint of Inspector Adnan Bukhari, the case against the PTI leaders was opened at Sarwar Road Police Station.

Jahanzeb Nawaz, the accused driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck Ali near Fortress, provided a statement to police throughout the investigation that served as the foundation for the FIR.

Jahanzeb was driving his company’s vehicle and had gone to see his friend, Umar Fareed, near Fortress, according to his account.

Jahanzeb claimed he hit the victim near Fortress Bridge on his way back after dropping off the vehicle near Waris Road. Jahanzeb accompanied Ali to the hospital after noticing his injuries.

The PTI employee was brought to the neighbouring Joint Military Hospital, according to Jahanzeb’s statement (CMH). But, because to the heavy crowds at CMH, he was transferred to Lahore Services Hospital.

According to the statement, Jahanzeb arrived at the hospital and asked an Edhi ambulance driver for a stretcher before transporting the victim to the hospital’s emergency room.

In his statement, he also stated that he left the hospital when a doctor informed him that Ali had died. He took a rickshaw to his home near Sherpao after parking his car on Waris Road.

Jahanzeb went on to say that when he saw his images on social media the next day, he notified his supervisor, PTI leader Raja Shakeel, about the event.

Shakeel, according to his account, drove Jahanzeb to Zaman Park, where he sat in the vehicle while Shakeel walked inside. When Shakeel returned, he advised Jahanzeb to “relax and not be frightened at all”.

At a news conference on Saturday, Punjab interim chief minister Mohsin Naqvi and Punjab Inspector General Usman Anwar released details of the investigations into the PTI worker’s death, claiming that Ali died as a result of an accident rather than police torture.

The Punjab police head dismissed the PTI’s claim that the provincial administration was responsible for allegedly murdering the PTI worker, saying his death was “sadly misconstrued”.

The PTI said Ali died as a result of police brutality and torture following a raid on a protest near party chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Town mansion last week to kick off the party’s election campaign.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
